The students were asked to use a variety of media, text and images to create their own ‘Me in a box’ sculptural artwork. The artwork needed to communicate a message about something that is important to them, constructed like a diorama in a box. This connected with their Unit of Inquiry, ‘People use different forms of expression to convey their creativity’.
The students had to create an imaginative creature that was part plant, part animal. The image was drawn in black pen then was painted. Watercolour paints were applied to add colour as well as to explore the properties of this versatile medium.
